Posted a couple more bikes. First off is a bike built by Gaz (he of the British diesel choppers) and the second has been created by A.E.D. Corp who have been investigating the possibilities of creating an electronically injected (common rail) engine for the U.S. Military. See that here.

Latest news from makers of the Diesel KLR is that only 22 bike have so far been produced. Disappointing news for all of us who hoped things were a little further forward than that.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of Ernie Dorsett, one of the founding fathers of the Diesel Motorcycle movement. He left us On tuesday the 24Th of October at 17.00Hrs Telford Hospital. DieselBike.net offers its condolences to his family and friends. See his web pagehere. We have lost a great visionary this week and it will be a long time before we see the like of him again. The funeral will be at 'St Michael and All Saint's' church on Monday 6th November at 14.00 Hr's.

New DVD available from the makers of the Hydrostatic Hog! Go here to get a copy. I've just seen this and can honestly say it's a great DVD. It has a well laid out menu situated over a schematic of the motorcycle with individual films focusing on each part of the Hydrostatic system and how it relates to the bike. In addition there is video footage of the bike on the road against a rock soundtrack. As technical DVD's go we give this one the thumbs up and urge you to support the makers by ordering a copy!

I am indebted to Paul who informs me that the EcoRider is not classed as a Motorcycle but is in fact an ATV. This, apparently, is world wide. I will, for the moment anyway, leave it where it is but maybe I should consider a new category for ATV's.

I'm suffering from computer problems at the moment and have lost my contact list. Drop me a line if you need info about what's happening with the ride to Hamm.

The Ecorider made a brief appearance on British TV's The Dragons Den where and investment was asked for. One wonders why when it has a substantial dealer network? Do you know more?

Hamm Rally rideout: At the time of writing, 4 bikes, (2 diesel) will be riding to Hamm. They will be leaving from differing ports and at differing times. We will be setting out from Newhaven on an early ferry on the 6th Sept. Two vans may also go (with bikes inside) but they may choose to go seperately because on the speed/cost issue. Let me know if you fancy a slow ride out to Germany. We're gonna take a week to get back. I'll post ferry number when I book it.

HDT have announced that production of the Bulldog KLR D650 has been delayed due to the fact that the military have increased their order for this diesel powered motorcycle. Read the announcment in full here.

Myself & Dave showed our bikes at Beaulieu this weekend but the it was a 'no show' for the Diesel KLR which was rather disapointing. Still, we had plenty of interested ppl viewing the bikes and I even managed to ride round the circuit in front of the vast crowds after tagging myself onto the Custom bikes group. Check it out here.

The next event on the calendar is the Beaulieu Motorcycle show 24th - 25th June. We shall be there flying the flag.

I've just learned that the Diesel KLR will be making an appearance at the 2006 Beaulieu Motorcycle show 24th - 25th June 2006. It would be nice if a few of us could attend with our bikes as the organisers will let us ride out for the crowd should we so wish. I'll be there.

-23/12/05: Breaking news that the E.V.A. Track Diesel Motorcycle will be launched in 2007. 100 units to be made. 3 Prototype bikes will be made for 2006. For more information checkout the Commercial Prototype page. This machine has a 3 cylinder 850cc engine and can reach speeds of 115mph. There is a Video Clip of this bike running available from their website!

It appears that Charnwood, makers of the 350cc Hatz & importers of the Sommer Bikes may be closing. They are selling name & sidecar moulds.

Hamm Rally was a blast. We saw two Smart & one Lupo engined bikes as well as our first hybrid diesel/electric machine.
After much consultation the next British Rally will be back at the Bat & Ball. Hopefully one week before Beaulieau Bike show.
Diesel Car Magazine (UK) has an article concerning Diesel Bikes in the Sept Edition.
I will be at the Hamm Rally in Germany, along with my bike so don't hesitate to say hello!

NULL & VOID: The next British Diesel Rally will be staged at Beaulieu Motor Museum to coincide with their Motorcycle World weekend show. Date not set yet but it is likely to be mid June.They expect 30,000 visitors.We will have stand space for those who wish to show/sell bikes, cheap camping, free tickets and, hopefully, the chance to see the Diesel KLR and possibly even newer machines. And not forgetting that the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum is within easy. For those from abroad and unfamiliar with the location of Beaulieu it is in the County next to Sussex where the 2005 Rally was held. Watch this space.
